Can I get my stitches wet? When do I get them out?

The Doctor told me nothing! I hit my head and got a small 2 mm deep cut in my face next to my eye. I went to the hospital, the doctor gave me 2 stitches, and I said thank you, and then left. THE END. I know nothing! Never had stitches before! They are blue, so does that mean I have to get them removed? When? By who? Can I get them wet? Aka, shower? What do I do?
